Dr. Amelia Chronos is a character from The Mask: The Animated Series.
Biography[]
Chronos is a mad woman with the ability to travel in time as well as control it. She wields a deadly stopwatch that she uses in her nefarious schemes to control time.
She first encountered the Mask during a robbery to steal a ton of plutonium to help in her latest scheme. She managed to escape by using her stopwatch to slow the Mask down and also found out the Mask's true identity. Soon Chronos began altering the time stream, turning Edge City into a dark, gloomy dystopia under her command. Stanley tried to stop her, but lost his mask and inadvertently travelled 300 years into the past, during the time of the pilgrims.
Chronos was there too and taunted Stanley for being unable to stop her and persuaded the people that Stanley was a witch that must be disposed of. However Milo, Stanley's dog managed to find the mask in a chest under some leaves, 300 years before he and Stanley had found it near Edge City bridge and put it on, scaring the pilgrims and managing to put the mask on Stanley. Stanley then defeated and humiliated Chronos, taking her stopwatch, which now didn't have any effect on him and stranding her 300 years into the past, whilst being chased by the angry pilgrims as she had now been classed a witch. Afterwards Edge City was returned to normal.
She managed to escape and tricked the Mask into wearing a stopwatch that created a time-loop that repeated every thirty minutes. She also used the loop to create time pulses of herself all over Edge City, so she could absorb them all and create the ultimate time warp to make her an all powerful, immortal being of time. However the Mask found out what she was up to, removed the device and used it against her, giving the mad scientist a taste of her own medicine by trapping her in a time-loop of the Mask constantly dropping a grandfather clock on her head.
However Chronos escaped again and disguised herself as an angel to get the mask for herself and use it to further her plans for world domination. However with the help of Lt. Kellaway, Stanley managed to get the mask back and once again foiled Chronos' plans. He also attached another time-loop stopwatch on her back set to repeat itself every few minutes during an encounter with Phoney Frenchman whose bomb had just detonated. She is not seen again after this.
